About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support services to anesthesiologists and registered nurses in the preparation, care, maintenance, and availability of anesthesia supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare and assemble anesthesia equipment and supplies for surgical procedures using sterile technique.
  • Perform daily care and routine maintenance of anesthesia-related equipment, including inspecting for damage and reporting equipment for repair and safety hazards.
  • Verify the performance of airway and monitoring equipment for constant readiness.
  • Document testing of equipment and instruments as required for compliance.
  • Inventory, order, stock, and ensure the ready availability of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain a sterile field for anesthesia services and ensure adherence to the sterile field by applying principles of aseptic techniques.
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Technical Degree or Diploma in Anesthesia Technology, Emergency Medical Technology (EMT), Nursing (LPN), or Surgical Technology
  • 1-3 years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician or in a clinical healthcare setting
  • Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) certification from the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians
  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT certification from the American Heart Association
