Your Role

We are looking for a Hydraulic Engineering EIT/Engineer to become a vital part of our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and design for stormwater management, drainage, and erosion & sediment control related to transportation and environmental projects, including both closed and open drainage systems, environmental site design, ponds, stream restoration, flood studies, and erosion & sediment control measures.
  • Provide technical support to transportation and environmental teams focusing on hydrologic, hydraulic, scour, and water quality design and analysis.
  • Independently manage and execute hydrologic and hydraulic design tasks, including reports and studies.
  • Assist in the development of plans and cost estimates.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and milestones.
  • Participate in fieldwork as necessary.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Credentials

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • Experience collaborating with state, county, and municipal transportation agencies, preferably within the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Familiarity with transportation and permitting agency design manuals, standards, and procedures relevant to the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools such as TR-55, TR-20, PC-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, or similar software. Competence in Bentley CAD programs including MicroStation, Open Roads Designer, and ProjectWise.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe, and Bluebeam.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Maryland, Virginia, and/or the District of Columbia.
  • 3-5 years of experience in transportation water resources design and analysis within a professional engineering environment.
