Job Summary

The City of Montebello, CA is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Police Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of law enforcement duties, including patrolling assigned areas, responding to calls and complaints, and investigating incidents and crimes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patrol duties on an assigned shift, conducting property checks and stopping suspicious persons
  • Investigate incidents and crimes, prepare reports, and collect evidence
  • Make physical arrests, issue citations, and appear in court proceedings
  • Perform accident investigations, traffic control assignments, and surveillance of persons and places
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other law enforcement agencies and the community
Requirements
  • Possession of a basic certificate issued by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training
  • Possession of an appropriate California driver's license
  • One year of non-sworn California law enforcement experience or one year of experience as a police officer in the State of California within the last twelve months
