Armed Security Officer: Part-Time Position

Job Summary

This is a part-time position for an Armed Security Officer with a company located in the Meridian, MS area. The successful candidate will provide security for patients, guests, and employees, enforce company policies and procedures, and perform assigned duties to ensure the security of patients, guests, and employees in a courteous and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enforce all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
  • Conduct routine inspections of on-site and off-site locations of the company.
  • Investigate accidents and other incidents assigned and report all occurrences in a timely manner.
  • Perform safety and security-related duties as assigned and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Participate in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience in Security, law enforcement, or military.
  • Previous experience or currently an armed police officer with a Louisiana or Federal Law Enforcement Agency (reserve status is acceptable) and has had arrest power and been assigned in an active law enforcement capacity.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of practice and clean DMV report.
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI), and firearms training.
  • International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of Certified Police Officer of Standard Training Policy Academy (state, federal, or military).
  • Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certification or Military Police equivalent.

Ability to continuously walk the company property, including outside areas, interior areas, using stairwells in an 11-floor plus structure.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including 24/7, weekend, holiday, and on-call availability.
