Job Overview
As a key member of our team at Warren CAT, the Electrical Power Generation Specialist (EPG Field Tech) III plays a critical role in providing exceptional repair services to customers. This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
  • Consistently complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet performance standards and quality metrics.
  • Work safely and adhere to all WCAT safety policies and procedures.
  • Accurately complete related paperwork and access databases required for job completion.
  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies with self-monitoring work quality.
  • Working knowledge of CAT generator systems, ATS, switch gear, and UPS.
  • Perform load bank and startup of multiple unit power generation.
  • Understand and apply CAT reusability guidelines.
  • Perform warranty repairs using CAT warranty guidelines.
  • Engine alignment and accurate timing return with documentation.
  • Timely parts and core returns with proper documentation.
  • Accurate service reports, DOT logs, and timecards daily.
  • Provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to customers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems on gas and diesel engines, recommend repairs, and make engine adjustments.
  • Mentor EPG Techs I and II as needed.
  • Perform engine rebuilds with no supervision.
  • Monthly service inspection of service trucks and document deficiencies.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent; five to eight years related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Associate's degree in Applied Diesel Technology a plus.
  • Strong proactive, intuitive, and interpretive skills to identify problems or complications.
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong communication abilities.
  • Leadership and mentoring mentality, clean driving record, CDL for field assignment as required.
  • Must be at least 21 years old to operate field vehicles.
  • Succeed in Work steps assessment.
  • Certified prior to operating forklift and man lift.
  • H2S, MSHA, and lock-out/tag-out certifications as necessary.
  • ISO Level I Certification.
  • Complete arc flash and UPS training.
  • In-depth knowledge of CAT products, electric power systems, and engine components.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, laptops, diagnostic software, cranes, and rigging equipment.
  • Flexibility to work other schedules, including shift work and overtime.
  • Certification in EPG Technician III required training and/or demonstrated performance.
  • Flexibility for travel and extended overnight stays.
