Campus Police Lieutenant Job Description

Central Texas College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Campus Police Lieutenant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising police personnel and operations, exercising sound judgment in the general supervision over police and campus safety officers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise police personnel and operations
  • Exercise sound judgment in the general supervision over police and campus safety officers
  • Assist the Chief of Police in developing, administrating, coordinating, and implementing departmental policies, procedures, programs, and activities
  • Perform a variety of routine and complex public safety work in the performance and administration of patrol techniques, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement and regulation, and other related law enforcement functions and/or activities

Requirements:

  • Associates Degree
  • Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification
  • TCOLE intermediate certification
  • Successful completion of a Basic Police Academy
  • Six (6) years of related work experience
  • Two (2) years of related supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TCOLE instructor certification
  • TCOLE Firearms instructor certification
  • ALERRT Certified Instructor

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to maintain Department's physical, medical, and psychological standards
  • Ability to meet departmental emergency response time of 30 minutes when off duty
