POSITION SUMMARY:

The Hydraulic Technician is responsible for diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems, utilizing both personal expertise and factory guidelines to ensure efficient and high-quality service. This role requires a keen ability to assess hydraulic system performance, identify issues, and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct a variety of skilled tasks including cleaning, troubleshooting, disassembly, diagnosis, reassembly, testing, and analysis of hydraulic components to support branch operations.
  • Utilize testing equipment and part identification to analyze and troubleshoot hydraulic issues, consistently seeking to understand the underlying causes.
  • Implement corrective measures to resolve identified problems and verify the effectiveness of solutions.
  • Assemble, modify, and rework components according to technical documentation and verbal instructions.
  • Assist in inventory management by adhering to established purchasing and invoicing procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer and supplier communications.
  • Employ basic hand tools and machinery, including power screwdrivers, pressure gauges, and hydraulic test stands, while performing tool inventory.
  • Engage in clean-up and inventory activities as required.
  • Support the identification of parts and bills of materials as necessary.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of fitting types and plumbing sizes, including NPT, SAE, JIC, and Metrics.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry standards, machinery, and techniques.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, particularly those related to hydraulic systems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and foster productive relationships with team members.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to interpret work instructions, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic measuring and testing equipment.
  • CFPS certification is a plus.
  • Commitment to high standards and excellence.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow effectively.
  • Understanding of safety requirements and precautions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly required to stand and sit.
  • Frequent use of hand and finger dexterity.
  • Often works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
