Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Installation/Assembly Technician to join our team at Alamo Group. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for installing subassemblies into our products, ensuring high-quality assembly and meeting production deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install subassemblies into our products, following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Position parts accurately, using knowledge of unit assembly or following manuals and diagrams.
  • Operate hand tools, power wrenches, gauges, and power tools to perform assembly line operations.
  • Set up jobs by locating parts and correct job numbers.
  • Install hydraulic and electrical components.
  • Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, spaced clips, rivets, cotter pins, or other fasteners.
  • Position and bolt engine block components to truck body using wrenches, hammer, and power hoist.
  • Assemble truck body of unit and prep hopper.
  • Bolt subassemblies, power module, fan housing, set fan clearance to engine, using torque wrench and other hand tools.
  • May remove small quantities of metal with hand files and pneumatic tools to produce close fit between parts.
  • May operate drills or riveting machines or hydraulic crimping machine to assist in assembly operation.
  • Identify and distribute parts to proper location.
  • May operate forklift and crane/hoist.
  • Accurately record work order information and inventory transactions. Assist with inventory corrections as needed.
Requirements
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull pounds alone. Able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel toe shoes.
  • Manual dexterity; mechanically inclined and good eye/hand coordination.
  • Knowledge and skill in use of caliper and other measuring devices.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
  • Problems solving and troubleshooting skills required.
  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use both powered and hand tools.
