Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a vital role in the delivery of quality healthcare services at Wexford Health Sources, Inc. This leadership position requires a skilled and experienced nursing professional to oversee the Nursing Services Program and ensure compliance with contractual requirements, Department of Human Resources, and CARF standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive nursing plans to guide the delivery of quality healthcare services.
  • Collaborate with patients, patient families, medical and nursing staff, security staff, and administrative personnel to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in budgetary activities, including monitoring personnel and supply usage, to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct regular meetings with nursing staff to maintain open communication and ensure adherence to established protocols.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of nursing schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient care needs.
  • Represent nursing services and coordinate patient care with other departments, including health services administration.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Illinois.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a correctional healthcare setting, with a focus on nursing leadership and management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of CARF standards and ability to ensure compliance in all aspects of nursing services.
