Job Summary

Yellowstone County is seeking a highly skilled Tax Supervisor to oversee the property tax collection process for the Treasurer's office. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the clerical operations and activities of the Tax Department, recruiting and training employees, and ensuring compliance with state statutes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and direct the work of the Tax Department, including supervising and evaluating employees.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule employees in the Tax Specialist Assistant class.
  • Work with the Treasurer to develop employee expectations and office policies and procedures.
  • Confer with the Treasurer to determine administrative and technical support needs for the Tax Department.
  • Review state statutes to ensure compliance with tax collection and processing requirements.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Two years of experience in technical accounting, collections, home mortgages, land deeds, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with tax collections, fee processing, and distribution.
  • Previous supervisory and/or office management experience.
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills.
