Medical Screener

As a Medical Screener at CSL Plasma, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of donors. Your primary responsibility will be to greet donors, conduct registration procedures, and qualify them for the plasma pheresis process.
Key Responsibilities:- Registration and Screening: Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process, which includes assessing self-administered health history, answering basic medical questions, and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
- Education and Support: Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, explaining the screening process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, and proper nutrition.
- Donor Support: Ensure that all donor questions are answered timely, accurately, and professionally, and maintain alertness and awareness to any reaction by donors during or after the pheresis process.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily calibration of equipment and resolve calibration out-of-specification issues according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Team Collaboration: May provide guidance and technical training to Reception Technicians and other staff as required, and alert Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.
- Record Keeping: Ensure the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the SOPs.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 18 months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions
- Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation
