About the Position

This role oversees Planners and Senior Planners in specialized and technical land use planning and development work in a diverse jurisdiction. The successful candidate will review, edit, and present reports prepared for the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Supervisors, and Board of Adjustment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Planners and Senior Planners in land use planning and development work
  • Review and approve staff reports and planning documents
  • Provide status updates on applications and planning work program items
  • Continuous improvement of the Tyler permitting system
  • Continuous assessments of the County's planning work program
  • Review, edit, and present reports for the Planning and Zoning Commission, Board of Supervisors, and Board of Adjustment

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Planning or a related field
  • Three years of planning experience
  • Postgraduate degrees or related experience may substitute for education or experience
