About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to join our team at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare family, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Job Summary

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, intervening, and evaluating the care of Med/Surg patients. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive high-quality, efficient care in a medical surgical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients' responses to care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to take an active role in their care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote excellent patient care.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current Florida Registered Nurse license, or compact licensure with active FL RN license within 60 days of hire.
  • A nursing diploma or ASN degree, with a BSN preferred.
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting, with a strong preference for experience in medical surgical nursing.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
