EHS Specialist

At C.D.L. ELECTRIC COMPANY, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for enforcing and managing the general health and safety policies and procedures of the organization within the construction and manufacturing field.

• Conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment, and materials to ensure compliance with OSHA and other state, local, or industry-specific regulations and laws.
• Develop a systemic process to collect data such as accident reports, certifications, trainings, and other relevant reports.
• Implement initiatives to reduce and prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, and exposure to long-term health hazards.
• Represent the company in meetings with government bodies and other agencies regarding workplace health and safety.
• Assist with training for OSHA and First Aid/CPR to employees to ensure that they are transferred and understood company-wide.
• Manage a team in assessing the effectiveness of safety-related internal processes, controls, risk management, and governance activities.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventative action plans regarding safety and health.
• Work closely with the executive team to ensure that all divisions are aware of all procedures, policies, and laws.

• Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety Sciences, or 7+ years of recent equivalent experience in manufacturing and construction industries.
• Knowledge of safety training needs and coordinating safety training programs.
• Certification in First Aid, CPR, AED Instructor preferred.
• Excellent record and bookkeeping skills.
• Experience with management or leadership required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
• Knowledge of policies and laws regarding safety and training in the workplace.
• Safety certifications preferred: OHST, STS, CSM, CSMC, or other applicable certifications (CSP, SSH, SHP, CSHO).
• Experience with workman compensation, setting up proper medical attention, collecting reports, investigating, and reporting.
• Experience in construction and manufacturing safety field.
