We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team at Piper Companies. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and implementing network systems, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- Configure and maintain network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine network upgrades and maintenance under supervision.
- Support network security measures by configuring access control lists and managing VPNs.
- Document network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Set up and maintain wireless networks and resolve connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement network improvements.
- Provide technical support for network-related issues and resolve them in a timely manner.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and execute backup strategies.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in networking.
- Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Experience with Fluke testing tools for cable testing and network configuration.
- Familiarity with network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Knowledge of network security concepts, including VPNs, ACLs, and firewalls.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from senior engineers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
- Relevant certifications, such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA, are a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
$30-$40 per hour, depending on experience. Full benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
