Your Role in Making a Difference:


The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) delivers psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic, and treatment services to patients, including medication management and crisis intervention, while adhering to established policies and state regulations.

They ensure compliance with documentation requirements set by state or facility guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:


Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, formulate care plans, and assess the effectiveness of interventions, including medication management and crisis intervention.


Maintain detailed documentation in line with organizational policies, state regulations, and best practices, covering medication education, seclusion/restraint protocols, infection control, and risk management.


Deliver individualized care that is sensitive to the age and developmental needs of each patient, and participate in on-call rotations and mandatory committees as needed.

Adhere to established therapeutic regimens and follow procedures for admissions, transfers, and specialty referrals.


Assume responsibility for individual decisions and actions, while upholding standards of psychiatric care and contributing to committees and meetings as requested.


Qualifications & Requirements:
Education

Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program.

Experience

Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Psychiatric experience preferred and/or experience in a residential healthcare setting.

Licenses/Certifications

Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice is highly desirable.

Must maintain CPR certification and any other certifications required by contract.

Additional Information:
This position requires onsite presence and involves a commitment of 20 hours per week.
