Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Service Technician to join our team at Walker Engineering, Inc. in Houston, Texas.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing electrical installations, alterations, additions, and repairs on commercial electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical theory and its application to installations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Performing electrical work under the guidance of an account manager
  • Mentoring apprentices and overseeing the safe operation of tools and equipment
  • Completing service documentation accurately and in a timely manner
  • Communicating with clients in a professional manner and conducting walk-throughs upon job completion
  • Monitoring costs and performing small field estimates
  • Operating and maintaining service vehicles according to company policy
  • Maintaining a clean and safe driving record
  • Performing other project-related duties as instructed by supervisor

Requirements include:

  • Licenses: Electrical Journeyman's License (or Master's) required and a current Driver's License required
  • Education: High school graduate, GED or equivalent
  • Experience: 5+ years' of practical electrical experience in commercial electrical service work in the field
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills
  • Ability to understand basic electrical theory and its application to installations
  • Ability to pass company drug-screen and physical tests
  • Availability for on-call rotation is mandatory
  • Maintain a neat and professional image at all times
