Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients, in collaboration with referring physicians
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech and language disorders
  • Supervise and mentor Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants in direct patient care and related activities
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation conferences as needed
  • Conduct in-services training for other staff members on speech and language pathology topics
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes
  • Collaborate with patients' families and nursing staff to develop maintenance programs and caregiver training
  • Participate in discharge planning and ensure a smooth transition of care
  • Act as a clinical preceptor for affiliating Speech-Language Pathologists and student programs
  • Comply with relevant state and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field; Master's or Doctoral degree preferred
  • Current licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including data entry and electronic medical records
