Clinical Technician I- Part time

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Technician I to join our team at Midwest Vision Partners. As a Clinical Technician I, you will play a vital role in the care of patients in a clinic setting.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Interact with patients to accurately gather information and enter it into our electronic medical records system
* Proactively engage patients in communicating what to expect with the visit and continue to communicate delays or any other changes with the patient
* Initiate and perform documentation of the patient's chief complaint, present illness, and captures past medical history
* Accurately record all information in EMR system according to established standards and physician requirements
* Conduct tests and measures eye muscle function, pupil size, and reactivity
* Apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes
* Assist with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections and laser treatments, in an exam room or treatment room, including preparing patients for sterile procedures
* Educate patients regarding the administration of medications, and pre and post operative instructions, as directed by physicians
* Readily scribe for physician
* Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, completing diagnostic and procedure coding, and keeping patient information confidential, following all HIPAA requirements
* Utilize effective problem-solving skills to respectfully and efficiently de-escalate any dissatisfied patients
* Demonstrate basic knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms & ocular medications
* Stay current with the latest technologies and medications and be able to answer general patient questions
* Assist team members and completes other special projects as requested

**Requirements:**

* High school diploma or GED equivalent
* Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle
* Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and lift up to 50lbs
* Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience
* Knowledge of medical terminology
