Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct software verification based on requirements for embedded systems.
  • Plan and execute a variety of tasks related to software requirements analysis, documentation, hardware-software integration, troubleshooting, and verification testing.
  • Engage in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of embedded product software and support software to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Provide mentorship to junior software engineers and test engineers, enhancing their development and troubleshooting skills.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Systems.
  • Ensure that technical approaches align with established engineering standards and practices.
  • Verify that product outcomes satisfy customer requirements and adhere to technical, system, performance, process, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
  • At least 6 years of professional experience in verification testing of real-time embedded software. This experience may be obtained in a testing role within a software development organization or a Quality Assurance environment.
  • Proficiency in developing tests using TestStand and/or LabView tools from NI.
  • Experience in developing, analyzing, and reviewing requirements for safety-critical real-time embedded software.
  • Strong skills in low-level integration and testing (drivers, communications, I/O, hardware/software interfaces) and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to create, debug, and execute both automated and manual requirements-based software verification tests.
  • Familiarity with version control and issue tracking tools.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with software architecture and design information captured in models (using tools such as Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect, or similar).
  • Knowledge of weapon systems, munitions, and/or combat vehicle functionalities.
  • Experience using GitLab or other CI/CD tools.
  • Ability to trace software requirements, design, and verification artifacts.
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting software related to communications, device drivers, and I/O interfaces.
  • Experience integrating and testing software with various real-time operating systems such as vxWorks and Linux/Unix derivatives.
