Job Title: Care Specialist

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Specialist to join our team at The Arbors Assisted Living - NY. As a Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Wellness Director and Case Manager to ensure resident needs are met and daily work assignments are completed.
  • Report any unusual resident behavior or observations to the Wellness Director or Supervisor.
  • Respect resident privacy by knocking and waiting for acknowledgement before entering their room, and maintain confidentiality of necessary information.
  • Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere, promoting a calm environment throughout the community.
  • Adhere to Customer Service Principles, providing timely, professional, caring, and respectful responses to residents and colleagues.
Task-Specific Responsibilities:
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Maintain knowledge of resident needs and identify any significant changes, taking appropriate action.
  • Review 24-hour logs regularly and check residents regularly to ensure their personal care needs are met.
  • Follow through with resident problems or needs by reporting to the supervisor, depending on the level of ability and nature of the resident's need.
  • Monitor residents' attendance at meals and complete resident accountability reports throughout the day.
  • Assist the Wellness Director with monthly weight recording and take residents' temperatures as directed.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities and assist with recreational activities, including leading activities as required.
  • Bring residents to and from meals and activities when necessary.
  • Follow established Arcadia policies and procedures, as well as New York State Department of Health regulations.
  • Adhere to established infection control procedures, including hand washing before and after caring for each resident.
