Swim Instructor Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Swim Instructor to join our team at YMCA Cape Cod. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruct swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines and standards.
  • Build effective relationships with students and parents, and encourage parent involvement and volunteerism.
  • Convey information on aquatics programs and schedules, and refer students and parents to other programs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress reports, and other required information.
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, rules, and regulations, including emergency and safety procedures.
  • Organize and maintain class equipment, and report any damaged equipment.
Requirements:
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Basic First Aid certifications.
  • YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent within 120 days of hire.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques.
  • Ability to lift equipment and a small to average size child.
