Job Title: Travel Cytotechnologist

Medasource is seeking a skilled Cytotechnologist to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly qualified Cytotechnologist to work with us on a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preparing, staining, and evaluating cytologic material, including fine needle aspirations.

Responsibilities:
  • Process, stain, and coverslip various types of cytologic material.
  • Assist with fine needle aspiration immediate evaluation and procurement.
  • Perform clerical duties, including entering data into computers, answering phones, and distributing reports.
  • Maintain cytology schedules and delegate tasks as needed.
  • Work professionally and courteously with physicians, patients, guests, and other employees.
  • Assist with training and teaching of students, residents, and others.
  • Screen and interpret cytologic specimens accurately.
  • Assess proficiency of other Cytotechnologists, identify areas for improvement, and provide feedback.
  • Ensure performance standards are met.
  • Maintain and update departmental policies.
  • Maintain proficiency testing and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain department quality data and report any outliers.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of cytotechnology.
  • Cytology certification or eligibility by an approved HHS agency (ASCP or IAC).
  • 5 years of experience preferred but not mandatory.
