Job Summary:

Home Care for the 21st Century- North Hillsborough is seeking a skilled Patient Transporter to join our team. As a Patient Transporter, you will be responsible for safely transporting patients to and from medical appointments in a friendly and compassionate manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure passenger safety during transportation
  • Transport wheelchair, stretcher, and ambulatory clients and patients door to door
  • Load and unload ambulatory clients and patients
  • Strap down wheelchairs, assist passengers into their seats at pick up, and help them out of the vehicle at drop off
  • Coordinate instructions from the dispatch team and NEMT software to ensure optimal routing of trips
  • Operate a hydraulic lift to safely load and unload of wheelchairs/stretchers
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all on board
  • Conduct vehicle inspections at the beginning and end of their shift according to established procedures
  • Maintain their vehicles and cleanliness
  • Report needed repairs and service maintenance to supervisor
  • Maintain full knowledge of the vehicle's equipment and proper use at all times
  • Complete documents and maintenance records clearly and accurately
  • Participate in regular training and educational opportunities
  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds

Requirements:

  • Clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record)
  • Valid State of Florida Driver's License
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical, pre-employment drug/alcohol screening, and criminal background check
  • No suspensions, DUI, or more than 1 citation in the past 5 years
  • Must be customer service oriented
  • Experience in paratransit or healthcare preferred

Working Conditions:

The Patient Transporter will work in a fast-paced environment, transporting patients to and from medical appointments. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly rate: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
  • Bonus pay and tips

Work Schedule:

The Patient Transporter will work a variety of shifts, including 10 hour, 12 hour, and 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability.
