Job Summary

Boundless Childcare & Preschool is seeking a skilled Kitchen/Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a childcare or educational setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals for large groups of children, ensuring that all meals are nutritious, balanced, and appealing to young palates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals for large groups of children, adhering to established menus and adapting recipes as needed to accommodate dietary restrictions, allergies, and cultural preferences.
  • Ensure all meals meet the guidelines set forth by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), maintaining accurate records and documentation required for CACFP compliance.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and allergen management.
  • Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, including ordering food and supplies, to ensure that all necessary ingredients are available for daily meal preparation.
  • Collaborate with childcare staff to coordinate meal service and accommodate any special dietary needs or last-minute changes.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a childcare, school, or large-scale kitchen environment.
  • Familiarity with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and experience ensuring compliance with its guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment.
  • Experience in inventory management and ordering, with the ability to minimize waste and manage supplies effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with childcare staff and adapt to a dynamic environment.
Nice To Haves
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation (e.g., ServSafe).
  • Previous experience as a cook in a childcare or educational setting.
