Principal Scientist

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Scientist to join our Health Sciences Practice. The successful candidate will lead and collaborate with a team of scientists to deliver client-facing projects related to human health, including litigation support. The role will involve leading projects, identifying new business opportunities, and developing new businesses in related Health Science areas.

• Lead and collaborate with a team of scientists to deliver client-facing projects related to human health
• Identify and develop new business opportunities and promote Exponent through existing contacts
• Attract and develop new projects and clients
• Maintain strong relationships with existing clients
• Develop and mentor staff in both technical and business areas
• Provide project management and project budget oversight
• Publish and present study findings
• Provide strategic consulting and expert witness work

• Doctoral degree in a field related to Environmental or Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, or a related scientific field
• Minimum of 15 years of related experience (must be post-graduate experience)
• Minimum of 5-10 years of consulting experience
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong quantitative risk assessment skills
• Outstanding reputation among clients for integrity, responsiveness, and technical expertise
• Demonstrated project management experience
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
• Strong commitment to professional development

Exponent offers a competitive total compensation package, including base salary, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution. The base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $290,000 dependent on experience and capabilities.
