Crystal Lake Community Consolidated School District #47 is seeking a highly qualified Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide specialized knowledge and skills in the area of communication development and difficulties, and will support school teams in promoting quality student performance in communication and language development.

Responsibilities:
  • Have knowledge of current speech/language pathology approaches and practices
  • Plan program goals and designated outcomes for students
  • Implement strategies, activities, and techniques for promoting quality student performance in communication and language development
  • Assess communication and language learning outcomes achieved by students using a variety of assessment procedures
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and the community and outside agencies to better meet the needs of students
  • Address the learning styles of students
  • Work as a contributing team member
  • Assist with curriculum adaptations to meet the diverse needs of learners
  • Contribute to an individual program plan for students with special needs
Requirements:
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License
  • Speech Language Pathologist Endorsement
  • Comprehensive understanding of school-based Speech/Language therapy
  • Strong understanding of data collection/monitoring of student progress
  • Public or private school experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience serving young children
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team
  • The ability to evaluate and assess students
  • Utilize appropriate assessment tools and techniques
  • Prepare initial evaluation and progress reports as required
  • Design and implement treatment plans, goals, and clinical interventions
Physical/Mental Requirements:
  • Able to communicate effectively
  • Exhibit outstanding levels of flexibility, creativity, organizational skills, interpersonal communication skills, articulation, confidentiality, organization, and cooperativeness
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lifting equipment and materials
