Job Summary

The Physician Assistant at King's Daughters plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with physicians to provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. This position requires a strong foundation in medical decision-making, with the ability to assess patient status, develop treatment plans, and provide education to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient status through comprehensive health history interviews, chart reviews, and physical examinations.
  • Order and perform laboratory diagnostic tests, seeking consultation with physicians and other clinicians as needed.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, prescribing medications and injections in compliance with medical guidelines and state laws.
  • Provide education to patients and families on health promotion, illness prevention, and medication management.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and successful completion of a PA program.
  • National certification from the National Commission on Certification of PA's.
  • Active PA licensure in the state of Kentucky and other states as required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience as a Physician Assistant.
Working Environment

The Physician Assistant will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, frequently exposed to blood and body fluids, and occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation.

Physical Demands
  • Occasional lifting and moving of items up to 100 pounds.
  • Constant communication with patients and other care team members.
