Position: Shipping/Receiving/Stores Clerk I

Location: Milwaukee WI

Duration: 12 Months

Job Overview:
  • Proficient in MS Excel.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the facility.
  • Demonstrated history of excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Prior experience in shipping and receiving is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • This is a first shift position.
  • The candidate will manage shipping and receiving tasks within our ERP system.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform data entry tasks for recording quantities of receipts and shipments.
  • Understand and apply Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Exhibit good handwriting and the ability to adhere to work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Job assignments may vary based on workflow and daily requirements.
  • Verify quantity, weight, and compliance of materials; log receipts in the system, process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documentation; report on shipped materials and bills of lading; post weight and shipping charges, and route merchandise accordingly.
  • Depending on workload, may also involve training in various production areas.
Additional Duties:
  • Engage in a mix of manual and clerical shipping and receiving tasks; may operate from a central warehouse.
  • Utilize the computer system for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting. Follow established shipping practices and procedures.
  • Handle unpacking or wrapping of items including finished products, raw materials, and office supplies.
  • Ensure accurate verification of materials against stated identifications; log items in the system, process relevant documentation, and report shipping details.
  • Support manufacturing operations and/or distribution centers, including assembly and processing of products.
  • May operate automatic or semi-automatic machines in a continuous production environment.
  • Report any machine malfunctions or abnormalities, and recommend adjustments to methods and processes as necessary.
  • Entry-level position with clearly defined tasks and close supervision.
  • Contribute to basic activities and record data in manufacturing or distribution operations.
  • Communicate effectively within the immediate job area, providing and obtaining information as needed.
  • Required knowledge includes basic understanding of production-related systems and procedures.
