Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently operate saddle stitching machinery while adhering to safety protocols to deliver top-notch products.
  • Thoroughly review job tickets, layout sheets, and artwork specifications prior to commencing tasks.
  • Prepare and manage the stacker, tiers, mail head, and mail control systems.
  • Oversee all functions of the saddle stitcher, including pockets, gatherer, stitcher heads, in-feed, trimmer, mail table, and mail head.
  • Facilitate the setup and operation of demographic and inkjet systems.
  • Assist material handlers during continuous operations and provide guidance during downtimes and clean-up procedures.
  • Promote and maintain a culture of safety, continuously seeking improvements in operational processes.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any emerging issues to prioritize resolutions.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on all assigned machinery.
  • Maintain a detailed list of maintenance needs for timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, as well as company safety policies.
  • Encourage teamwork and collaboration among crew members and across shifts.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Prior experience in stitch binding is mandatory.
  • Ability to meet established quality and productivity benchmarks.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting job tickets, layout sheets, and artwork specifications.
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Basic mathematical skills for practical problem-solving.
  • Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and focused on quality and safety.
Physical Demands
  • Must utilize proper body mechanics for lifting, pushing, pulling, and other physical activities.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires manual dexterity and coordination for fine motor tasks.
  • Near visual acuity is necessary for detailed work.
  • Must navigate and operate within various departments in the facility.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress situations.
