Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibits proficiency in understanding medications and their impact on EEG assessments.
  • Demonstrates expertise in the 10-20 international electrode placement system and accurate head measurements.
  • Identifies and resolves artifacts by troubleshooting and rectifying equipment issues.
  • Collects high-quality data, ensuring technical excellence regardless of patient demographics.
  • Observes patients throughout the testing process.
  • Operates under the guidance of physicians responsible for interpreting results, who may not be present during the procedure.
  • Analyzes data in real-time to guarantee accuracy and interpretability.
  • Conducts EEGs (routine, ambulatory, sleep-deprived) for both adult and pediatric patients, including bedside testing.
  • Records EEGs while administering anticonvulsant medications.
  • Effectively communicates emergencies and provides care for patients experiencing seizures.
  • Performs epilepsy monitoring for both adult and pediatric populations.
  • Monitors skin condition and reports any breakdown to nursing staff.
  • Conducts Evoked Potential testing (Baer/VEP) and continuous monitoring in the ICU.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology.
  • Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited END program.
  • Preferred educational background: Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
  • Required certifications: ABRET board registration in EEG.
  • Skilled in head measurement and electrode placement techniques.
  • Proficient in conducting Routine, Sleep-Deprived, and Ambulatory EEGs, as well as Long-Term Monitoring and various evoked potentials.
  • Adept in data management, including clipping, pruning, and archiving.
  • Experienced in continuous monitoring of EMU EEG studies, with the ability to recognize significant events and promptly alert nursing staff.
  • Knowledgeable in Phase II long-term monitoring, including intraoperative planning and management of lead wires.
  • Capable of bedside functional mapping and EEG monitoring during WADA procedures.
  • Familiar with computer information systems for billing and patient management.
  • Previous hospital experience is preferred but not mandatory.
