About the Role

The Doctors Company is seeking a highly skilled Underwriting Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Underwriting Group, you will play a critical role in analyzing and evaluating complex medical malpractice risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist underwriters in day-to-day operations, including risk analysis of renewal books and servicing individual books of business.
  • Provide underwriting support on middle market and custom accounts, ensuring accurate and timely decision-making.
  • Conduct policy research and prepare routine and specialized correspondence or data analytics as instructed by underwriters or managers.
  • Maintain accurate file documentation and organization in accordance with guidelines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance underwriting efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • INS, RPLU, or CPCU designation, or progress in obtaining such designation, is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize incoming requests while maintaining daily work assignments.
  • Strong customer service and team orientation, with the ability to work with diverse personalities.
  • Ability to accurately type 60 WPM.
  • Proficiency in computer information systems, with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
