Key Responsibilities:

  • The Educator is tasked with delivering academic instruction and managing the behavioral needs of assigned students, often necessitating the exercise of independent judgment.
  • The selected candidate will exhibit a thorough understanding of the specific educational requirements of students at various developmental stages, ensuring the creation of a conducive learning atmosphere within the classroom.
  • The Educator will monitor, assess, and report on the academic progress of students, while also engaging in collaborative meetings and working effectively with fellow staff members.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree along with a minimum of three months of relevant teaching experience (such as student teaching or internships).
  • Must possess or be eligible for a conditional, standard professional, or advanced license from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) at the time of appointment. Candidates holding a conditional license are required to secure a standard professional or advanced license within two to four years, based on MSDE's evaluation of their credentials.
  • It is essential to maintain compliance with MSDE licensing requirements throughout the duration of employment.
  • Experience in working with adolescents who are non-verbal, very low functioning, and exhibit severe emotional or behavioral challenges is highly preferred.
