Key Responsibilities:

Under the guidance of the Charge Nurse, the Patient Care Assistant (PCA) carries out non-professional, direct care tasks and helps maintain a supportive physical and emotional environment for residents. This role includes assisting residents with daily living activities, recreational programs, and mealtime support as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Patient Care Assistant (PCA) certification in good standing with the state or completion of state-required training and competency evaluation within four (4) months of employment.
  • Ability to engage positively with residents and their families while collaborating effectively with fellow staff members.
  • Consistent attendance is essential.
  • Compliance with all local health regulations and successful completion of a post-offer health assessment.
  • Physical and sensory capabilities (with or without mechanical assistance): walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine motor skills, pushing and pulling, ability to hear and respond to calls; ability to read and write; ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with residents, families, staff, vendors, and consultants; ability to remain composed under pressure; ability to detect smells, tastes, and temperatures.
