COVID-19 Update: Sutter Health is committed to hiring exceptional talent while prioritizing the health and safety of our workforce, patients, and the communities we serve. In compliance with state regulations and Sutter policy, all onsite personnel are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19, with limited exceptions as mandated by law. The recruitment interview process will adhere to these guidelines unless the position is fully remote.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough interior and exterior patrols of the facility and grounds to deter fire, theft, misuse, and vandalism.
- Perform a minimum of three patrols per shift to assess security measures at doors, windows, and locks.
- Secure and unlock facility entrances at designated times.
- Politely inquire about the presence of individuals on the premises after visiting hours, demonstrating sound judgment in managing unauthorized access.
- Provide timely escorts for visitors, patients, and staff to and from parking areas, ensuring a response to requests within five minutes under normal circumstances.
- Inspect outgoing parcels and equipment to prevent theft of property.
- Communicate any unusual incidents reported by personnel, visitors, or patients to the appropriate supervisory staff immediately.
- Document all incidents in writing and submit reports by the end of the shift.
- Maintain continuous communication with fellow security officers via radio.
- Review and accurately complete entries in the daily Pass-Down Log at the beginning of each shift.
- Inspect all security equipment in accordance with departmental policies.
- Adhere to guidelines for the use of force and maintain confidentiality while utilizing electronic security systems.
- Ensure that elevators and fire escape stairwells are unobstructed and well-lit, reporting any issues promptly.
- Respond to emergency situations, including fire alarms, potential abductions, and bomb threats, following established procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors, particularly in high-risk situations.
- Collaborate effectively with external law enforcement agencies as needed.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to interact compassionately with individuals in distress, employing verbal intervention skills to ensure safety. Physical restraint may be utilized as a last resort, in conjunction with medical personnel, to maintain the well-being of all parties involved.
