Cybersecurity Engineering Lead Job Description

MITRE is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineering Lead to join our team. As a Cybersecurity Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of cybersecurity engineers in the design, development, and implementation of secure systems and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of cybersecurity engineers in the development of secure systems and solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and solutions to protect against emerging threats
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize cybersecurity requirements
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies and procedures
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigation
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity training programs for team members

Requirements:

  • Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain additional program accesses
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of Air Force acquisition programs and Cyber Operations
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of Cyber Command Policies and Processes and Combatant Commander Priorities
  • Flexible systems thinker with the ability to deliver results quickly
  • Demonstrated record of technical team leadership
  • Understanding of technical fields that are critical to the program's success (e.g., cloud computing, data engineering/data science, digital engineering, cybersecurity and resiliency techniques, agile software development and acquisition)
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate across projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as effective verbal and written communication skills, collaboration, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills
  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related field or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Top Secret SCI Clearance
  • Knowledge of Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture projects and divisions, and broad knowledge of Joint cyber operations
  • Familiarity with Information Operations, Offensive Cyber Operations, and Cyber C2
  • Familiarity with operations and architectures across Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, civil, and commercial agencies
  • Prior experience working DoD acquisition programs
  • Experience with the MITRE cyber platform, internal research projects, and MITRE Labs
  • MS + years of experience in computer science, cybersecurity or related field
