About the Job

The Unit Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient care units. This detail-oriented professional provides administrative support to patient care providers, medical staff, and patients, allowing our caregivers to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate and transcribe orders for clinical colleagues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assemble and maintain medical records with current information
  • Collaborate with the unit charge nurse, manager, and patient placement to identify bed and unit needs
  • Promptly manage phones and patient call lights, relaying messages as appropriate
  • Keep patient accommodations updated as ordered, and enter/manage patient charge information
What We're Looking For
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous healthcare experience or demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Proficient in the use of administrative technology (Microsoft-based PCs, telephones, fax, printers) required; EMR (Cerner/Epic) experience preferred
  • Ability to successfully complete the MC Unit Coordinator Training Program upon hire/transfer
  • Independent working style with a strong attention to detail, skilled at organizing and prioritizing a varied workload
