Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our busy multi-physician podiatry practice. This full-time role involves a variety of responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of our clinic.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional patient service through friendly and effective communication during patient intake.
  • Accurately enter patient data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and verify comprehensive patient histories, including medical, surgical, medication, allergy, and social backgrounds.
  • Assist in taking X-rays while maintaining patient safety; certification in Limited Radiology is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided.

Additional duties include:

  • Daily stocking and cleaning of patient examination rooms.
  • Performing pre-certification and authorization for medical procedures, including MRIs and medications.
  • Ensuring patient education materials are organized and accessible in care rooms.
  • Preparing surgical gauze packs and fitting patients for Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
  • Assisting with minor in-office surgical procedures and sterilizing instruments post-use.
  • Managing patient communications regarding medication refills and scheduled appointments.
  • Monitoring voicemails and EHR inboxes, with experience in ModMed being advantageous.
  • Receiving and organizing supplies, maintaining cleanliness in common areas, including bathrooms and kitchen facilities.
  • Understanding and adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to assist at other locations as needed during staff shortages.
