Podiatry Medical Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our busy multi-physician podiatry practice. This full-time role involves a variety of responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of our clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional patient service through friendly and effective communication during patient intake.
- Accurately enter patient data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and verify comprehensive patient histories, including medical, surgical, medication, allergy, and social backgrounds.
- Assist in taking X-rays while maintaining patient safety; certification in Limited Radiology is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Additional duties include:
- Daily stocking and cleaning of patient examination rooms.
- Performing pre-certification and authorization for medical procedures, including MRIs and medications.
- Ensuring patient education materials are organized and accessible in care rooms.
- Preparing surgical gauze packs and fitting patients for Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
- Assisting with minor in-office surgical procedures and sterilizing instruments post-use.
- Managing patient communications regarding medication refills and scheduled appointments.
- Monitoring voicemails and EHR inboxes, with experience in ModMed being advantageous.
- Receiving and organizing supplies, maintaining cleanliness in common areas, including bathrooms and kitchen facilities.
- Understanding and adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Flexibility to assist at other locations as needed during staff shortages.
