Intertek is actively seeking a Construction Materials Tester to join our Building and Construction team. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry.

We are looking for an experienced Construction Materials Tester to assist the Construction Services Department by performing a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.

As a Construction Materials Tester, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.
  • Operating testing equipment and conducting testing, such as soil, concrete, or other materials, and providing assessment of data through reporting.
  • Working utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams.
  • Using specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks.
  • Making detailed observations and providing limited interpretation of results.
  • Maintaining detailed documentation and data from test results.
  • Operating a calculator to calculate mathematical test results.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and project teams.
  • Ensuring your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
Requirements and Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Basic Math, Calculator, and Computer Skills.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to read and understand work plans.
  • Ability to work off shifts and overtime.
  • Ability to work on weekends occasionally as needed.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record.

Preferred Requirements and Qualifications

We prefer a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience performing field and/or construction materials testing and/or inspections.
  • Industry Certifications are highly preferred, such as ACI Concrete Field Testing Grade I, FDOT - 346, FDOT Earthwork Level I & II, and FDOT Asphalt Paving Level I & II.
About the Job

As a Construction Materials Tester, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of construction materials. You will work in a team environment and be required to travel to various job sites. The salary for this position is estimated to be between $45,000 and $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
