Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team at UnityPoint Health. As a Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including scrubbing, documenting, and circulating during procedures under the supervision of a cardiologist/vascular surgeon.
  • Provide circulator role in the Invasive Vascular Labs as assigned.
  • Oversight of circulating assistants during procedures.
  • Promptly complete documentation to ensure an accurate legal record of patient care.
  • Utilize critical thinking in making independent judgments and maintain responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.
  • Assess needs of patients and families, providing appropriate teaching and making necessary referrals to provide continuity of care.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members, including physicians, nurses, radiologic technologists, clinical partners, and department secretaries and leaders.
  • Participate in taking off-hour call as assigned.
  • Continues professional development by involvement in professional activities that enhance nursing practice, sharing knowledge through networking and research.
  • Utilize a holistic approach, considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients and families served in the assigned service area.
  • Delegate and provide direction for other healthcare providers and hold them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • 6 months hospital clinical experience, 2 years experience in critical care or telemetry preferred.
  • Current RN licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
