Position Overview

We are in search of a committed Certified Respiratory Care Specialist to join our esteemed team at HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital. As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering exceptional, patient-focused respiratory care in alignment with departmental protocols and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including assessment of breath sounds, airway integrity, and cuff pressure.
  • Perform diagnostic tests to determine the necessity for and effectiveness of respiratory interventions.
  • Administer various respiratory therapies, such as oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist in the placement of artificial airways as needed.
  • Initiate, oversee, and manage mechanical ventilation for patients.
  • Continuously monitor patients for therapeutic outcomes and respond to urgent medical situations as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Certified Respiratory Therapist licensure.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications to be obtained within the first six months of employment.
  • Graduate of a Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
  • Associate Degree in a relevant field.
