The Laboratory Technician - Automated Chemistry position involves executing a range of standard testing procedures to gather data for clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting routine specimen analyses and documenting results in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Assessing the validity of analytical outcomes based on the algorithms presented by the laboratory information system.
  • Recognizing and recording potential performance discrepancies or unusual results, escalating issues to senior laboratory staff as necessary.
  • Preparing buffers and solutions for testing as needed.
  • May perform secondary reviews of analytical outcomes once deemed competent for specific instruments and/or data types.
  • Managing the storage of post-analysis samples and reagents.
  • Contributing to the development and documentation of new laboratory protocols and methodologies.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the laboratory environment in accordance with 6S principles.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; some laboratory settings may necessitate a degree in chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology.
  • A minimum of 6 months of relevant laboratory experience is required.
  • Other equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Fundamental understanding of laboratory principles.
  • Basic familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and applicable regulatory agency standards.
  • Awareness of laboratory safety protocols and infection control measures, including standard precautions and hazardous material handling.
  • Understanding of laboratory equipment, instruments, and terminology relevant to the field.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close visual tasks (computer work, reading small print). Physical demands may vary based on assigned tasks and work environment.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $45,000 to $75,000. Actual base pay may vary based on various factors, including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Depending on the position, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may also be offered, alongside a range of health and welfare benefits.
