Job Summary

U.S. AutoForce, a division of U.S. Venture, Inc., is a leading tire wholesaler in California, with over 500 team members and 9 locations. We are seeking a skilled Transportation Supervisor to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising all drivers, daily dispatch, maintenance of vehicles, driver orientation/evaluation and training. This role requires strong leadership and analytical skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of all drivers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
  • Develop and implement vehicle maintenance programs to ensure compliance with safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Manage equipment records and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
  • Oversee DOT compliance and reporting, as well as manage DMV registration requirements and renewals.
  • Track and analyze fleet expenses, providing recommendations to increase efficiency and profitability.
  • Participate in driver training, onboarding, and recruiting processes, including weekly ride-a-longs.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Operations and Branch Operations Managers to review new fleet purchases and replacement needs.
  • Work with the Safety Team to ensure safety and OSHA compliance.

Requirements
  • Strong understanding of Excel, Access, and other similar applications.
  • Ability to utilize GPS, Telematics, and In-Cab Cameras to track, trend, and coach driver behavior.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software and warehouse management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze and problem-solve.
  • Ability to be flexible and work effectively both independently and with other people.
  • Ability to travel throughout Southern CA and multi-day site trips to DC's located outside of So. CA.
  • Strong oral and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, as well as compute rates.
  • Able to interface, work, and communicate with people of varied backgrounds and at all levels.

Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or Technical Certificate, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 3+ years of increasingly responsible experience in Fleet Management and Leadership.
  • Tire industry knowledge preferred.

Physical Demands
  • Repetitive motions sitting at a keyboard.
  • May require rising/sitting repeatedly, ability to lift, pull, grasp, stoop, reach to utilize 5-drawer file cabinets.
  • May require climbing stairs and walking indoors or outdoors at various company locations.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25lbs. from floor to waist.
  • Vision abilities: close/distance/color/peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
