Qualifications:
Candidates must fulfill all local and state prerequisites to be considered. This may encompass:

  • Possessing a valid license or certification as an Educational Psychologist.
  • Holding a master's or specialist degree in Educational Psychology or a related discipline.
  • Exhibiting familiarity with federal and state regulations pertinent to special education, assessment, and intervention.
  • Having a background in conducting thorough evaluations and assessments of students' cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral performance.
  • Successfully passing a background investigation and any additional screenings mandated by the district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer psychoeducational evaluations and assessments to pinpoint students' strengths, weaknesses, and areas requiring support in cognitive, academic, social-emotional, and behavioral aspects.
  • Analyze assessment findings and work alongside multidisciplinary teams to formulate suitable educational plans and interventions for students with disabilities.
  • Deliver individual and group counseling services to students to tackle social-emotional and behavioral issues, encourage positive coping mechanisms, and foster academic achievement.
  • Consult with educators, parents, and other school personnel to devise and implement strategies for classroom management, behavior intervention, and academic assistance.
  • Engage in the special education eligibility process, including participation in IEP meetings and providing insights on students' educational requirements and programming.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and resources to coordinate services and support for students and their families.
  • Maintain precise and confidential records of assessment data, counseling sessions, and progress tracking in accordance with district and state regulations.
