Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Assembly Specialist to join our team at Dover Food Retail. As an Assembly Specialist, you will be responsible for working collaboratively with our production team to manufacture and assemble high-quality products, adhering to strict safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble or produce component parts into sub-assemblies, assemblies, and completed units, following standard work instructions and assembly travelers.
  • Use hand tools, electric tools, and pneumatic tools to perform assembly tasks.
  • Maintain acceptable performance standards for assembly, production, quality, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Perform minor adjustments or setups to equipment or machines under supervision.
  • Inspect parts or completed units using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the lead person or department supervisor.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and instructions from lead and supervisors.
  • Cross-train team members and processes, and assist with production as needed.
  • Perform a variety of assembly or production duties with minimal supervision.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-2 years of production assembly work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic reading/writing skills
  • Basic PC skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure and understand fractions and decimals
  • Good communication skills
  • Understanding of 6S
  • Ability to read and understand all job specifications
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Team-oriented individual who is flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing environment.
