Laboratory Technologist IV

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technologist IV to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing clinical testing in laboratory areas where you are fully trained and in compliance with Federal, State and City regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain or receive laboratory specimens, including blood, urine, and body fluids, and perform clinical laboratory tests, obtaining data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
- Perform a variety of standardized procedures, both manual and automated, using established standards and controls in order to ensure correct data.
- Understand the principles of and competently perform a variety of techniques where you are trained, perform quality control and preventive maintenance, and correctly perform analysis and interpret results obtained as far as accuracy, acceptability and critical limits.
- Work independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines, and record and file all data obtained.
- Valid license as a clinical laboratory technologist issued by the NYSED.
- Meet one of the qualification requirements of a laboratory supervisor as outlined in Title 10, Section 58-1.4 of the New York Public Health Law.
