Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Bay County Medical Care Facility. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing wound care, and assisting with daily living activities.
  2. Lead and support a team of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in providing exceptional patient care.
  3. Assist with setting up and delivering medications, and verify medication accuracy.
  4. Conduct resident rounds, taking vital signs, and observing for general well-being, cleanliness, comfort, and neatness.
  5. Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed records, including medication sheets, physician renewals, and lab slips.
  6. Inventory and order supplies, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  1. Valid L.P.N. license in the State of Michigan.
  2. Valid C.P.R. certification card.
  3. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, stand and walk for long periods, and perform other physical demands of the job.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Working Conditions
  1. Work is performed in a resident care environment with noise, frequent interruptions, and exposure to unpleasant odors, odorous wounds, blood, and/or body fluids.
  2. Evening, night, weekend, and holiday hours may be required.
