Job Description

The Senior Software Architect will lead the development team in designing, developing, and deploying software and application updates and new developments. The Architect will be responsible for translating the needs of end users into technical requirements that the development team can then implement.

The Architect will provide technical leadership to the development team, ensuring successful project delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software.
  • Implementation and development of large multi-tier API/web services, data integrations, and related web applications.
  • Advising customers on understanding of API/web service architectures and concerns.
  • Troubleshooting production problems related to software applications.
  • Researching, testing, building, and integrating enhancements or new products based on client requirements.
  • Designing and developing new major software products or major enhancements to existing software.
  • Preparing and providing software-related documentation.
  • Providing status reports for ongoing work.
  • Coordinating and addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
  • Consulting with project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
  • Assisting in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration, and testing tools.

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related discipline.
  • 8-10+ years' experience in software development and applications programming.
  • Experience with AWS and Azure Cloud providers.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Certified Scrum practitioner (Certified Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Product Owner, or Certified Scrum Developer).
  • Experience using and developing RESTful APIs using JSON, RSS, NewsML, and other API formats.
  • Experience using and developing SOAP Webservices APIs using XML formats.
  • Experience with event-based and message-driven distributed systems.
  • Knowledge of data stores and related topics - NoSQL and RDBMS.
  • Experience with dependency management, build & release, and automation tools.

California Pay Range: 175K - 220K.

Physical Requirements:

The following are the essential physical requirements needed to successfully perform the job.

  • Sedentary work.
  • Requires sitting up to 8 hours per day.
  • May require lifting up to 5 pounds unassisted.
  • Fine repetitive motor skills with hands, wrists, and fingers in coordination with eyes.

Hearing, speaking, and vision:

Adequate to perform job duties and communicate in person, via video, and telephone. Includes reading information from printed sources and computer screens.

Other:

Work may be performed in an office environment, which may involve frequent contact with staff and the public. Work may be stressful at times.
