We are seeking a highly skilled Trauma Specialist to join our team at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving the district's crisis prevention, preparation, response, and recovery support plan.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with departments and schools to implement a coordinated response to crisis events
- Develop and support initiatives for suicide prevention, trauma-informed learning, and threat response
- Provide direct, on-site response coordination to crisis events
- Coordinate recovery from a crisis event for the school community
- Liaise with community agencies who support crisis response and recovery
- Master's degree in school counseling, school social work, or school psychology
- Valid, or ability to obtain, NC DPI licensure in school social work, school counseling, or school psychology
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in crisis response, trauma work, mental health services, or related work with children/adolescents
The Trauma Specialist will work in a moderately noisy location and will be required to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions. The ability to adapt to performing under mild to high levels of stress is essential.
