Job Summary

Mavis Tires & Brakes at Discount Prices is seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team at one of our state-of-the-art automotive service, repair, and tire sales centers in the West Caldwell, NJ area.

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to perform a wide variety of undercar repairs, including brakes, struts, and shocks. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles to ensure they are safe and running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair complex problems with vehicle undercarriage systems, including brakes, struts, and shocks
  • Inspect and test vehicles to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards
  • Work with customers to understand their vehicle needs and provide solutions to meet those needs
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
Requirements
  • 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance
  • Extensive tool box of personal tools used in performing undercar repairs
  • State inspection license(s) and ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5) preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repeated and repetitive movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds
